Discover the reason for your home heating troubles!

An unreliable heating and air conditioning system can be a major problem this time of year. Not only are you wrapped up in holiday festivities, hosting relatives, and entertaining friends – but the weather is seriously chilly! If you can’t rely on your heater, here are a few of the possible reasons why:

1. Thermostat Woes.

The thermostat is one of the most common culprits with home heating issues.

  • The good news – A thermostat goof is an easy fix!
  • The bad news – You might be embarrassed if you call a repair team out for something simple like that.

Make sure your thermostat is set above room temperature; otherwise, the heater won’t get a signal to turn on.

2. Power Source.

Another common reason the heater won’t turn on is a fault in the electrical panel. Tripped breakers are common enough and can shut down your heating and cooling unit in the blink of an eye. Cycling your breaker off and on again will eliminate this as a possibility.

3. Overworked and Undervalued.

Maybe your heater just needs a little TLC. The holidays are a stressful time for everyone, particularly if the demand for heating services is high. An overtaxed system can start to run hot and automatically shut off as a safety precaution. Try turning the system off for 30 minutes then reset.

If none of these options works for you, it’s time to call in the big guns for a repair evaluation. The holidays are stressful enough without enduring neglect from your heater. Home appliances should make your life easier, not more complicated!
